We are proud parents and business partners in Bowling Green, and we strongly support the upcoming levy for BGCS. In our role as parents, we want to promote and improve our children’s well-being, and we want them to have the same opportunities afforded by nearby school districts. For our community, we feel strongly that this needs to include the benefit of modernized school facilities.
In our role as business and property owners, we understand the value associated with our tax bills. We never love paying those bills – who does? – but we know that our taxes help create a community with robust municipal services and a strong collective spirit. Our community must attract new businesses and sustain existing businesses, and we need to invest in education and our school facilities in order to do so.
Failing to support the levy will impose its own costs. Our children will miss out on important opportunities, we will lose families to other school districts, and we will lose new businesses to other communities. Meanwhile, our children and our school facilities will only grow older. Let’s support the upcoming BGCS levy and show our commitment to investing in our community, our children and our businesses.
