Teams to compete in ball hockey tournament for Habitat for Humanity of Wood County

In support of Habitat for Humanity of Wood County, four teams will compete in the sixth annual “Hockey for Habitat” ball hockey tournament on Sept. 30. The event will raise thousands of dollars to support Habitat as it builds, rehabs, and repairs homes for low-income families in Wood County.

This year, Buffalo Wild Wings of Bowling Green has partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Wood County as a presenting sponsor.

The tournament will be played Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., on the outdoor hockey rink at Bowling Green City Park, 520 Conneaut Ave. Teams will compete in a ball hockey double-elimination tournament. Teams are made up of 8-10 players including a free agent.

Anyone wanting to register should go to www.wchabitat.org/hockey

The Hockey for Habitat Fundraiser is an annual fundraiser mixing hockey with Habitat’s mission. All funds raised will support our work in Wood County to partner with families making decent and affordable housing possible.

Prior to the tournament, teams need help to raise funds for Habitat. The top fundraising team will get the first pick in the free agent draft and 10 tickets to a Walleye game.

Registration is $15 per player and includes a Hockey for Habitat shirt.
