Thomas J Idczak

Thomas J. Idczak, affectionately known as “Grampy” to his family and friends, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2024, in Phoenix, Arizona, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 3, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio, to Walter and Evelyn Idczak, Tom was the eldest of five boys and took on the responsibilities of the man of the family at the tender age of 12 when his father passed away.

Tom graduated from DeVilbiss High School and went on to earn his degree from the University of Toledo. He served his country with honor for 6 years in the Ohio Air National Guard, 180th Combat Support Squadron.

In 1975 Tom joined P.M. Group, Toledo. In 1990 Tom and Eric Anderson co-founded Anderson Idczak Associates as a Certified Financial Planner and Certified Professional Business Consultant. Tom dedicated 32+ years to serving medical and dental professionals in Northwest Ohio with unwavering commitment and expertise.

Beyond his professional achievements, Tom was deeply involved in his community. He served on the Board of Directors for Parkview Hospital in Toledo, Ohio and was a founding member of Sun Devil Family Charities in Tempe, AZ.

Tom’s passions extended beyond his career and community service. He loved swimming, bike riding, playing golf, and, of course, donuts. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family and friends, especially playing with his grandchildren (and great grandchild).

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Evelyn, and his brothers David and Tony. He is survived by his devoted wife Kathy; brothers Jim (Fred) and Mike (Sue); son Nick (Erin), stepdaughter Jodi, and stepson JP (Mo).

His grandchildren, Haylie (29) (John), DJ (29), Lauren (25), Jared (24), Nash (12), Riggs (6), and great-grandson Carter (3 months), will forever remember their Grampy for his wisdom, warmth, humor, and the countless happy moments they shared.

Thomas J. Idczak’s legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to his family and community will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A celebration of life in Toledo, OH and in Arizona are pending. Announcements will be posted with Whitney & Murphy Bueler Mortuary at buelermortuary.cominfo@buelermortuary.com(Chandler, AZ).
