With their fellow firefighters lining the back of the council chambers, three Bowling Green firefighters were sworn into leadership positions Monday evening during a City Council meeting.
Being promoted to the position of lieutenant were Brian Elling, Phil Foos and Brandon Westerman.
Mayor Mike Aspacher said the three were to be commended for their skills and dedication to their profession.
As each were sworn in, accompanied by their families, Fire Chief Bill Moorman passed the badges to family members to pin on the new lieutenants.
“You guys have worked really hard to get to this position,” Moorman said. “I know you’re going to do a fantastic job.”
