Jeff Klein, Emergency Management Agency director for Wood County, has issued the following advisory:
The NWS Storm Prediction Center has Wood County in the “Slight” risk for severe weather this evening. Looking at today’s weather models, rain is expected to begin around 3 p.m. for our area. Thunderstorms are expected to develop around 6 p.m. and move across the area from the southwest to northeast ahead of a cold front. There is a slight chance some storms will become severe with the main threat damaging winds up to 65 mph, hail will also be possible.
There is a threat of an isolated tornado as well, mainly in the southern areas of Wood County.
The Wood County EMA will be monitoring local conditions and provide updates as they become available.
