The Transcendence Artist Coalition and the Wood County Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services (WCADAMHS) Board are now accepting applications for the Coleman Creative Recovery Grant, a new initiative designed to support Wood County residents living with mental health and/or substance use challenges through creative expression.
Made possible through the Jane Elsass Memorial Fund that is managed by the county board, the grant provides funding for art supplies to help individuals explore healing, recovery, and self-expression through the arts.
The initiative is offered in collaboration with the Transcendence Artist Coalition and honors the legacy of an individual whose creativity and life were impacted by behavioral health challenges.
Eligible applicants may receive funding for art-related supplies, including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, craft materials, and select one-time digital art tools. Grant recipients will also be featured artists in the WCADAMHS Board’s Resilience Through Art: Recovery Art Show in May 2027.
Applications are open through Aug. 28, 2026, with awards announced in October 2026. A total of $1,000 is available and may be awarded to one or multiple recipients based on demonstrated need, artistic vision, and the proposed use of funds.
