Bowling Green city crews worked for hours to remove a large tree that fell near the corner of South Maple Street and Ordway Avenue during this evening’s high winds. Power was restored shortly after 10 p.m. after going out in that area of the city around 7:30 p.m.
Once city workers removed the downed tree, crews worked to restore power. That should take care of a large portion of the outages in the city, according to Bowling Green Communications Director Amanda Gamby.
There are other areas scattered around the city with tree debris on power lines, slowing the restoration of electricity, Gamby said.
