Two Portage residents were killed in a crash Thursday around 7:37 p.m., according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Ohio 199 and Mermill Road, in Montgomery Township, when a vehicle reportedly failed to stop at the stop sign and was struck by a tractor trailer.
The driver has been identified as Magdalena Torres, 43, and the passenger was Aurelia Torres, 18, both of Portage. They were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
