A child was asleep in the home where two people were killed Sunday, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.

The suspect, Xiaosong Wang, 62, of Bowling Green, reportedly shot and killed two people in the home in the 500 block of Monroe Court. According to the report, Wang also fired shots outside the home as people fled the scene.

As police searched the house, they found multiple gunshot victims, and the unharmed 4-year-old child sleeping in a bed. He was carried to his parents, who were safe outside.

The suspect and victims reportedly all worked at the same restaurant, Ninja Hibachi Sushi Steak House, in the 1000 block of South Main Street. One of the witnesses told police that Wang believed he was being fired from the restaurant.

Wang has been charged with two counts of murder in the shootings of Zhichun Huang, 36, and Bing Luan Lin, 40, both of Bowling Green. Wang was also charged with felonious assault for reportedly shooting a third victim in the shoulder. That man was taken to a Toledo area hospital, where he was treated and released.

At least five people were inside the home when the shooting occurred, according to BGPD Lt. Adam Skaff. Wang was reportedly staying in the house where the shootings occurred.

The call came into BGPD around 12:08 a.m. on Sunday from the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, which received a 911 call from a male stating he needed help. Gunshots could be heard in the background. Another 911 caller stated there were multiple people running down the street and gunshots were being fired.

When the first BGPD officer arrived on the scene, he reportedly saw Wang exit the house. The officer approached the male at gunpoint and ordered him to show his hands. The officer could see a silver and black object sticking out of his front right pants pocket.

When ordered to the ground, Wang reportedly complied. Officers found two handguns in the suspect’s pockets. They also reportedly found three loaded pistol magazines in his right cargo pocket and four pistol magazines in his left cargo pocket. In his back pocket was a large folding knife.

Wang was taken into custody without resistance. He is being held in Wood County Jail. Because of a language barrier, a Mandarin Chinese translator is being used to aid in the investigation.
