Vernon E VanAtta Jr

Vernon VanAtta Jr., born on October 27, 1952, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Vernon dedicated 27 years to Cooper Tire and Rubber, where he was known for his hard work and commitment.

Vernon found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was an avid Buckeyes fan, enjoyed bike riding, cherished picnics with his children and grandchildren, and loved attending concerts. Above all, his deep love for Jesus guided him throughout his life.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Esta VanAtta; daughters Lori Cox and Dawn Marshall Beck (Andrew Beck); and his cherished grandchildren Jessica, Alex, and Justin Booher; Abryannah VanAtta; Nadia, Abby, Rachel, and Ezekiel Marshall; and Montgomery Beck; and his great-grandson Zayden Martin. Vernon is also survived by his siblings Dianne Willier, Jim (Mary) VanAtta, Deb Spitsnaugle, Sam (Tammy) VanAtta, Doug VanAtta, and Bryan (June) VanAtta.

He was preceded in death by his son Nathanael VanAtta, daughter Kara VanAtta, parents Vernon and Ruth VanAtta, and brothers Faith and David VanAtta.

Vernon’s legacy of love, dedication, and faith will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday July 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 W. Wooster St. Visitation will be held Monday morning at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.
