Virginia (Fullmer) Hillard passed away September 22, 2016 after a brief illness. She was born March 21, 1925 to Ernest and Lulu Fullmer in Wood County, Ohio. She married Dallas C. Hillard on November 20, 1945, shortly after his service in World War II. They shared 70 wonderful years of marriage together before his passing February 9, 2016.
Virginia graduated from Portage Twp. High School in 1943. Having been raised on a farm, she was a lifelong devoted farmer’s wife and business partner in the family farm. Her interests were many and included quilting, knitting, her family, the Methodist Church, cooking, reading and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
She is survived by her sister Lois Effertz of Dayton, Ohio, sons, Dr. Mark (Ann)of Sylvania, Ohio, Dr. Bruce (Lucinda) Holland, Ohio, and Scott Hillard of Bowling Green. Grandchildren, Ben, Sam, Emily, Susie, Miranda, Chris, and Alison. She was preceded in death by her husband Dallas and daughter Barbara.
Visitation will be held on Sunday September 25, 2016 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster Street. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday September 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 1526 E. Wooster Street in Bowling Green. Pastor Amy Miller will officiate. Interment will follow at Portage Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to Wood Lane or First United Methodist Church.
