Visiting quartet to play & record BGSU students’ compositions

The Klingler ElectroAcoustic Residency (KEAR) at Bowling Green State University will welcome the icarus Quartet as its 2020-21 featured guest. 

The ensemble will visit in person April 29-30, reading and recording new student compositions for the quartet with fixed media. 

Tune in to the College of Musical Arts livestream on Thursday, April 29, to see and hear new works by BGSU student composers Delanie Molnar  at 10 a.m.)\, Steven Naylor at 11:30 a.m., Benjamin Damann at 2 p.m., and Cory Brodack at 3:30 p.m..

Dedicated to the discovery, creation, and performance of new music, icarus Quartet (Larry Weng and BGSU faculty member Yevgeny Yontov, piano, and Matt Keown and Jeff Stern, percussion) is passionate about educating and engaging with the next generation of musicians.  The quartet is committed to performing new works with a studied and convincing interpretation that mirrors the validity of works with performance practices developed over centuries.
