What you need to know if you haven’t voted yet …

Wood County Board of Elections has issued reminders for 2021 General Election. 

The 2021 General Election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 2.  On the ballot this year will be municipal, township, educational service centers and school district offices as well local questions and issues. 

Absentee Ballots

Applications for absentee ballots will be processed through Oct. 31, at noon. Voters who have requested and received their absentee ballots should mail the ballot as soon as possible. Ballots must be postmarked by Monday, Nov. 1 to be counted. Absentee ballots can also be placed in the Board of Elections drop box located at the Wood County Courthouse in Bowling Green. The box is located off Summit Street, directly to the right of the doors of the main entrance. Ballots must be in the box by 7:30 p.m. Nov. 2 to be counted. Ballots cannot be taken to the polls on Election Day. Voters who requested an absentee ballot who then appear at their polling location to vote will be required to cast a provisional ballot.  

Early Voting

Voters who wish to vote before Election Day in-person may appear at the Board of Elections office located at the Wood County Courthouse. Masks are required within the courthouse complex. The remaining voting hours are Friday, Oct. 29, from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 30, from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 31, from 1 – 5 p.m.; and Monday, Nov. 1, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. 

Election Day

Polling locations will be open on Tuesday from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Voters should remember to bring their valid ID to the polling place. Voters can verify their registration status as well as other voting information at www.voteohio.gov 

Health and Safety Protocols

As Wood County continues to report high community transmission of COVID and the Delta variant, voters are asked to bring and wear masks while in the polling locations for the safety of the Precinct Elections Officials as well as other voters. Precinct officials will be following the same cleaning and sanitary guidelines as have been followed since 2020. Social distancing is also encouraged while in the polling location.  

Polling Locations

Two polling locations have moved in the county. Voters in Rossford City will now vote at the Rossford Community Recreational Center, 400 Dixie Highway, Rossford. Voters from the Fostoria and Risingsun area, who formerly voted at Stacy’s Place, will now vote at the Fostoria Eagles Club, 1049 N. County Line St., Fostoria. Voters can verify their polling location at the Wood County Board of Election website www.woodcountyohio.gov/boe
