Bowling Green Police Division responded to a call Saturday at Walmart, 131 W. Gypsy Lane Road, about a woman with blue hair stealing a cartload of items.
Police pulled over the car, and arrested Brandi Shadbolt, 29, of Wauseon.
According to the police report, as soon as Shadbolt was handcuffed, she began apologizing.
She reportedly told police there was an open box cutter in her right front pocket. Later when being booked into the Wood County Justice Center, Shadbolt reportedly told the officer that the box cutter was for cutting spider wire alarms when she was stealing.
Shadbolt also reportedly told police the case around her neck, hanging from a lanyard, had drugs inside. Police found four syringes inside as well as numerous small baggies and one bag of methamphetamine weighing .72 grams and another weighing .51 grams, which were later sent to the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation.
Shadbolt reportedly admitted that all the items in the reusable bags were stolen, as well as the speaker in her purse which had a spider wire alarm on it.
All of the stolen food, beauty products, phone cases, clothes plus other items she stole added up to $1,570.78.
Shadbolt was arrested for felony theft/shoplifting, possession of methamphetamine, possession of criminal tools, and possession of drug abuse instruments.
