Wood County District Advisory Council to meet; physician needed to serve on health board

Wood County Health Department

The Wood County District Advisory Council (DAC) will meet on Thursday, March 16, at 7 p.m., in the Pratt Pavilion at the Wood County Fairgrounds in Bowling Green.

The purpose of this meeting is to elect the DAC chair and secretary, make necessary appointments to the Wood County Board of Health, receive and consider the annual or special reports from the board of health; and make recommendations to the board of health or to the department of health for the betterment of health and sanitation within the district or for needed legislation.

One board of health seat is expiring on March 31, and it is currently held by a physician. Per the Ohio Revised Code, the board of health must have at least one board member who is a physician. Thus, only physician applicants will be considered for this seat. The term for this seat is five years, beginning on April 1, 2023, and expiring on March 31, 2028.

Physician applicants may apply by sending a cover letter expressing their interest and a resume, which includes their physician license number, to DAC@woodcountyohio.gov. Applications must be received by March 14.
