Wood County Dog Shelter to be closed to public and volunteers

The Wood County Dog Shelter will be closed to the public, including volunteers, through Saturday, Dec. 12.

Dog licenses may be purchased on-line, https://doglicenses.us/OH/Wood, or by visiting the Wood County Auditor’s Office.

Phone calls will be answered during normal shelter hours, and appointments may be scheduled for critical services such as releasing dogs to their owners or adopting dogs.

Viewing adoptable dogs will be available online only at www.woodcountyohio.gov/dogshelter/

Visiting adoptable dogs, buying dog park memberships and surrendering dogs will be unavailable.

Shelter employees will continue to respond to reported incidents and perform enforcement duties. For emergencies, contact the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.

Normal shelter hours are: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; Thursday from 8:30 a.m. – noon and 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon; and closed on Sunday.
