Addiction Policy Forum, a leading national nonprofit, recognized Wood County Educational Service Center in its Ohio Innovations to Address Addiction report, spotlighting innovative programs that address addiction and provide support for families and communities.

“The Ohio Innovation Now report recognizes revolutionary programs, such as the Wood County Educational Service Center, that are transforming the response to addiction in Ohio and offering solutions during a time of crisis,” says Jessica Hulsey, founder of the Addiction Policy Forum.

The Wood County Educational Service Center’s Prevention Education Program, established in 2003, provides services to nine public schools and one career center in the local community. The Center takes a whole student approach, where they consider the totality of each student’s life, including ACE’s scores, allowing the program to make individualized approaches.

“We’ve seen great gains in Wood County, and it’s likely more gains are coming,” says Kyle Clark, director of Wood County Educational Service Center. “It’s an honor to be recognized in the Ohio Innovation Now report for our innovative approach in helping children impacted by addiction and providing prevention education to the youth of Wood County.
