The Wood County Fair will go on this summer – just in a modified form.
The fair board voted Tuesday evening that the 147th annual fair would be held Aug. 3 to 10. There will be livestock shows and other junior fair activities.
The fair board met with the Wood County Health Department and Wood County Emergency Management Agency before making the decision to hold the fair.
There will be some changes at the county fair, which normally attracts more than 100,000 people.
There will be no rides, no parade and no cheerleading competition. Other activities are still under review to see if they are feasible. Seating in the grandstands will be limited.
There will also be strict guidelines for camping and cleaning at the fair.
