Wood County has 223 confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19

Wood County now has 223 confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19, according to the Sunday, May 10, update from the Wood County Health Department. 

The total number of COVID-19 deaths in Wood County is now 30. Of those, 15 were females, and 15 were males. Four were in their 60s, nine in their 70s, 11 in their 80s, and six in their 90s.

Of the total 223 cases in Wood County, 158 are in long-term care facilities – 117 are residents and 41 are staff. Those numbers from long-term care facilities will be updated every Wednesday.

As of this week, the following facilities have cases:

  • SKLD Perrysburg: 49 residents, 3 staff.
  • Kingston Residence of Perrysburg: 43 residents, 15 staff.
  • Kingston Rehabilitation of Perrysburg: 5 residents, 9 staff.
  • The Manor at Perrysburg: 16 residents, 5 staff.
  • Otterbein Perrysburg: 4 residents, 8 staff.
  • Otterbein Pemberville: 0 residents, 1 staff.

The Ohio Department of Health has attributed 22 deaths in Wood County nursing homes to COVID-19 since April 15. The Ohio Department of Health updates the numbers from long-term care facilities weekly.

Of the total 223 cases in the county as of today, those with the virus range in age from 1 to 100, with the median age of 65. Of the local cases, 136 are female and 87 are male.

A total of 57 Wood County residents are currently hospitalized for the virus.
