Wood County has 924 confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19, according to the Monday, Aug. 3, update from the Wood County Health Department. That is an increase of 41 cases since Friday.
A total of 58 county residents have died since March.
As of today there are 135 active cases in the county, which is eight fewer than on Friday. Active cases are Wood County residents who are being monitored by the health department according to state and federal isolation criteria.
Every Wednesday, the Wood County Health Department lists “active cases” by Zip Code. As of July 29, the Perrysburg area had between 56 and 60 active cases, and the Bowling Green area had between 11 and 15 active cases. The Rossford, Northwood and Walbridge areas had between 6 and 10 cases.The areas of Custar, Cygnet, Fostoria, Grand Rapids, Jerry City, North Baltimore, Portage, Risingsun, Wayne, Weston and Wingston areas each had between one and five active cases.
Of the 58 who have died, one was in their 50s, seven were in their 60s, 14 in their 70s, 25 in their 80s, and 11 in their 90s. Of the deaths, 31 have been females, and 27 have been males.
Of the total 924 cases in Wood County, at least 244 have been in long-term care facilities – 155 were residents and 89 were staff. Those numbers from long-term care facilities are updated every Wednesday.

- Kingston Residence of Perrysburg: 44 residents, 17 staff.
- Kingston Rehabilitation of Perrysburg: 11 residents, 25 staff.
- The Manor at Perrysburg: 18 residents, 7 staff.
- Heartland of Perrysburg: 22 residents, 0 staff.
- Otterbein Perrysburg: 4 residents, 17 staff.
- Otterbein Pemberville: 3 residents, 5 staff.
- Heritage Corner Health Care, Bowling Green: 1 resident, 3 staff.
- St. Clare Commons, Perrysburg: 1 resident, 0 staff.
- Grand Rapids Care Center: 1 resident, 0 staff.
- Briar Hill Health Campus: 1 resident, 6 staff.
- Brookdale, Bowling Green: 0 residents, 1 staff.
- Wood Lane Residential Werner House: 0 residents, 1 staff.
According to the Ohio Department of Health, at least 47 of Wood County’s 58 deaths from COVID-19 have occurred in long-term care facilities.
Of the total 883 cases in the county as of today, those with the virus range in age from 1 to 102, with the median age of 43. The number of females is 494, and males is 430.
A total of 97 Wood County residents have been hospitalized for the virus since March. That number is four more since Friday.
