Wood County has lost 12 residents to COVID-19 in two weeks

Three more Wood County residents with COVID-19 have died, bringing the total to 12 local residents dying with the virus in the last two weeks. The three who died most recently included two males and one female, all in their 70s, and all with underlying health conditions.

Wood County has a total of 82 confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19, according to the Monday, April 20, update from the Wood County Health Department.

As of today, 51 confirmed and probable cases are in long-term care facilities in the county – with 38 being residents and 13 being staff at the facilities.. 

A total of 34 people with the virus in the county are hospitalized. 

Those with the virus range in age from 20 to 96, with the median age of 62. Of those, 46 are female, 36 are male.

No additional information about the 82 Wood County residents will be provided by the health department in order to protect their privacy.
