The Wood County Emergency Management Agency has issued the following advisory:
Wood County has been placed in a Slight Risk (2 of 5) for severe weather this afternoon and evening. Beginning around 5pm through 8pm today, scattered pop-up rain and thunderstorms are possible. These thunderstorms are not expected to be overly strong, but high winds are possible.
Overnight a more powerful round of thunderstorms will move through the area likely between 2am-3am. This line of thunderstorms will potentially lead to 60-70mph wind gusts with rain continuing through 8am.
Scattered rain showers and their potential will remain throughout the day tomorrow but are not expected to be as strong as those overnight.
With 60-70mph wind gusts, there is always the potential for power outages. Please make sure have multiple ways to receive emergency weather alerts, charged cell phones with the volume loud enough to wake you, flashlight with good batteries, and any other supplies you may need.
