Canoeing with Crayfish

Full Buck Moon
Tuesday, July 19; 8:30 – 9:30 p.m., Otsego Park: Marlow Overlook, 20000 West River Road, BG
Feel the energy rise with the moon. Life at the river becomes more dynamic as we say goodnight to the sun and welcome the night full of insect choruses. Leader: Pam Menchaca
Open Archery
Wednesday, July 20; 4:30 – 7:30 p.m., Buttonwood/Betty C. Black Recreation Area, 27174 Hull Prairie Road, Perrysburg
Arrive anytime from 4:30 to 7:30 to give our archery program a shot! Channel your inner marksman as you build your skills with beginner-friendly instruction in one of the most primitive and exhilarating shooting sports. Archery gear provided. Leaders: Briana Witte and Craig Spicer
Paddle Ohio Pin
Saturday, July 23; 9 a.m. to noon, Farnsworth Metropark, 8505 South River Road, Waterville
This free paddle experience is part of the Paddle Ohio Series. As you paddle, learn about the importance of water quality and stream monitoring from Christina Kuchle, ODNR. This program counts towards a Paddle Ohio pin. Learn more at http://paddle.ohiodnr.gov/about
PiPs, Preschoolers in the Parks: Paper Boats
Saturday, July 23, 11 – 11:45 a.m., Carter Historic Farm, 18331 Carter Road, BG
Many 1930s children made toy boats to float down the ditch or in the livestock tank. Preschoolers make their own toy boats and launch them. Please register for adults
and children attending the program. Leader: Tim Gaddie
Farm Play: Toy Boat Regatta
Saturday, July 23, 1 to 3 p.m., Carter Historic Farm, 18331 Carter Road, BG
Construct your own wooden boat and putt-putt steamboat and race them in the first annual Carter Farm Regatta. Enjoy some homemade ice cream. Regatta “prizes” are awarded for boats staying afloat rather than being fast. Leader: Tim Gaddie
Scenic River Kayaking
Saturday, July 30; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Otsego Park, 20000 West River Road, BG
Paddle down the Mighty Maumee with a naturalist. Check out ecological features and search for wildlife like bald eagles, painted turtles, beaver and more. A kayaking safety and skills session will precede the trip. All gear provided. Cost: $10; Friends of the Wood County Parks: $5 Leader: Craig Spicer
