Wood County has reported three new deaths and another 173 COVID cases since Monday, bringing the total number for the county to 14,214, according to today’s report from the Wood County Health Department.
The number of deaths is now 234, and the number of hospitalizations grew by eight to 684.
Wood County is now at 210.22 COVID cases per 100,000 residents, keeping the county in the high transmission range.
During the last two weeks, the 400 COVID cases in the county broken down into ZIP Code areas show that all areas of the county are affected. The highest number of cases in the last two weeks were reported in Perrysburg, 106; Bowling Green, 103; North Baltimore, 31; Northwood, 24; Risingsun, 16; Luckey, 12; Bloomdale, 12; Fostoria, 11; Wayne, 11; Weston, 10; Rossford, 10; and Pemberville 10.
Some schools in the county have reported recent cases of COVID, including:
- Elmwood, 5 students, 1 staff.
- Northwood, 4 students.
- Penta, 5 students.
- Perrysburg, 9 students.
- Rossford, 2 students.
As of today, 55.4% of Wood County’s population has been vaccinated. That’s 72,474 people who have gotten at least their first vaccine dose.
