Wood County has reached 547 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases since March, according to the Friday, July 17, update from the Wood County Health Department. That is an increase of 15 cases since Thursday.
As of today there are 42 active cases in the county – four fewer than on Thursday. Active cases are Wood County residents who are being monitored by the health department according to state and federal isolation criteria.
Every Wednesday, the Wood County Health Department lists “active cases” by Zip Code. As of July 15, the Perrysburg area had between 21 and 25 active cases, and the Bowling Green area had between 16 and 20 active cases. The areas of Jerry City, Luckey, Millbury, Northwood, Rossford, Rudolph and Walbridge each had between one and five active cases.
A total of 53 people with the virus in Wood County have died.
Of the 53 who have died, seven were in their 60s, 12 in their 70s, 23 in their 80s, and 11 in their 90s.
Of the total 547 cases in Wood County, at least 218 have been in long-term care facilities – 133 were residents and 85 were staff. Those numbers from long-term care facilities are updated every Wednesday.

- Kingston Residence of Perrysburg: 44 residents, 17 staff.
- Kingston Rehabilitation of Perrysburg: 11 residents, 25 staff.
- The Manor at Perrysburg: 18 residents, 6 staff.
- Otterbein Perrysburg: 4 residents, 16 staff.
- Otterbein Pemberville: 3 residents, 4 staff.
- Heritage Corner Health Care, Bowling Green: 1 resident, 3 staff.
- St. Clare Commons, Perrysburg: 1 resident, 0 staff.
- Grand Rapids Care Center: 1 resident, 0 staff.
- Briar Hill Health Campus: 1 resident, 6 staff.
- Brookdale, Bowling Green: 0 residents, 1 staff.
According to the Ohio Department of Health, at least 42 of Wood County’s 53 deaths from COVID-19 have occurred in long-term care facilities.
Of the total 547 cases in the county as of today, those with the virus range in age from 1 to 102, with the median age of 46. Of the local cases, 310 are females and 237 are males.
A total of 76 Wood County residents have been hospitalized for the virus since March.
