The Wood County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Saturday (2/8) just after 4 p.m., on Ohio 420 near Truman Road in Troy Township.
The crash involved a Mazda driven by Jaden H. Quinn, 24, of Toledo, and a Chevrolet driven by Taylor R. Leuck, 29, of Pemberville.
The investigation showed that the Mazda was traveling southbound on Route 420, south of Truman Road, when it crossed the center median and was struck by the Chevrolet, which was traveling northbound on Route 420. The Mazda sustained heavy driver side damage, and the Chevrolet received heavy front-end damage.
Both drivers were transported by ambulance to Mercy St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo. Quinn ultimately succumbed to his injuries today (2/9). Leuck was treated and released with non-life threatening injuries.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Assisting the Wood County Sheriff’s Office on location were Lake Township police, fire and EMS; Troy Township fire and EMS; OR’s Towing and BG Towing.
The crash remains under investigation.
