Bowling Green High School senior Zachary Nemec has been named the Exchange Club February Student of the Month. His 4.5 grade point average ranks second in this year’s senior class and he has been inducted into the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society.
Zach has been active in DECA and recently was on a team that placed third in district competition, which qualifies for the state competition next month. Bowling Green’s highly successful DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) program is directed by Cara Maxey.
Nemec is also a member of the wrestling team and has been active on the
baseball and basketball teams.
He likes to volunteer. Through DECA he has helped with the annual high school blood drive and the city Parks and Recreation Department’s Zombie Mud Run, held in the field behind the Community Center each fall. Other volunteer activities include Harvest for Hunger and the Ohio Energy Project.
In the fall he will be enrolling at Bowling Green State University with an intended major of digital forensics.
