BG Police arrest alleged hit-skip driver with alcohol level more than 3 times over limit

Bowling Green Police arrested a man allegedly involved in a hit-skip accident with a BAC of 0.258 on Saturday (Oct. 18) around 12:43 a.m.

Armando Cordova, 49, of Bowling Green, was arrested for OVI and failure to keep assured clear distance.

Police were called to the intersection of East Court Street and North Prospect Street by a motorist who said she was stopped at a red light, when a vehicle attempting to make a turn crashed into her vehicle.

The woman said she got out of her vehicle to exchange insurance information when the other motorist drove away. She reportedly took video on her phone that clearly showed the other vehicle’s license plate.

Police located the other driver, Cordova, at his home, where the keys were still in the house door, which was wide open. Cordova, who appeared intoxicated, reportedly told police that it had been three hours since he arrived home, though the crash had taken place 10 minutes prior to police arrival at his home. His license was confiscated and he was taken to Wood County Jail.
