Driver involved in hit-skip with bicyclist in BG reportedly identified as Perrysburg man

The driver of a vehicle that reportedly hit a bicyclist in Bowling Green then left the scene has been identified by BG Police Division as Kris Kelley, 68, of Perrysburg.

The hit-skip occurred Thursday (Jan. 8) around 3:18 p.m., at the intersection at 1121 S. Main St. A dash camera from a semi-truck on South Main Street showed a 2024 silver SUV failing to stop at the intersection just to the south of Gypsy Lane Road, then striking the northbound bicycle, pushing the bicyclist into the inside lane where he ended up on the pavement.

The bicyclist, an 80-year-old male from Findlay, had minor injuries.

BGPD put out a request for information on the crash, and collected video footage from stores in the area. The driver of the silver Rivian was later identified as Kelley, who has been charged with failure to yield the right-of-way, failure to follow rules for turns at intersections, and hit-skip.
