From VFW POST 1148
VFW Post 1148 in Bowling Green has named its officers for 2026. They are as follows: David Baus – commander; Greg Robinette – senior vice commander; Richard Zulch – quartermaster; Ed Stribrny – chaplain; Bill Bosworth – officer of the day; George Goup – guard; Tom Rucker – service officer; Grey Barku – trustee; Steve Benner – trustee, and Chris Lemke – trustee.
The organization meets the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
The mission of the VFW is to foster camaraderie among United States veterans of overseas conflicts. Its mission is also to serve veterans, the military, and communities and to advocate on behalf of all veterans.
