PERRYSBURG—Waterhouse bath & kitchen studio is bringing creativity and community together for its sixth annual Painted Toilets fundraiser in recognition of World Toilet Day on Nov. 19. This year’s event benefits Partners for Clean Streams, a local nonprofit dedicated to protecting and improving waterways throughout northwest Ohio.

Each year, Waterhouse invites local artists, businesses, and organizations to transform ordinary toilets into unique works of art. The finished creations are displayed at the Waterhouse showroom in downtown Perrysburg, where the community is invited to vote for their favorites with donations of $1 per vote.

This year’s six participating artists and groups include:

  • Renegade Youth
  • Gathering Volumes
  • Partners for Clean Streams and West Side Montessori
  • Ryan Roth
  • Rebecca Rae Tansel
  • Thomas Craley

Voting started Oct. 19 and continues through Nov. 19, with a fundraising goal of $5,000. Community members can visit the showroom to view the decorated toilets and cast their votes or donate online.

This year’s event also introduces “Who Gives a Flush?”, a new sponsorship opportunity recognizing individuals and businesses supporting the cause. Sponsorships begin at just $10, with donor names featured on a colorful display in the showroom’s front windows. The higher the sponsorship level, the larger the recognition.

Adding to the excitement, Renegade Youth will host its annual Row-a-Thon on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Renegade Gym, 13000 Eckel Junction Road in Perrysburg. The youth fitness group will row to raise additional funds, and community members are invited to attend and cheer them on.

World Toilet Day, observed annually on Nov. 19, brings attention to the billions of people worldwide who lack access to safely managed sanitation. Through Painted Toilets, Waterhouse hopes to spark conversations about the importance of clean water and sanitation while supporting environmental efforts close to home.

How to get involved

Community members can participate by visiting the showroom, voting for their favorite painted toilet, making an online donation, or becoming a sponsor.

When donating online to support a specific painted toilet, donors should enter the participant’s name in the NOTES field to ensure their votes are credited correctly.

Painted Toilets will be on display at Waterhouse bath & kitchen studio, 125 E. Indiana Avenue, Perrysburg, Ohio, through Nov. 19.
