One more COVID death in county; total of 16 cases now in nursing homes

One more Wood County resident – a male in his 80s with underlying health conditions – has died from COVID-19. That brings the total deaths from the virus in the county to three.

The county has 49 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases, according to the daily update from the Wood County Health Department on Friday, April 10.

Sixteen of those reside in long-term facilities in the county.

A total of 23 are hospitalized. Wood County Hospital has two patients who tested positive for COVID-19. 

Those with the virus range in age from 20 to 96, with the median age of 61. Of those, 29 are female, 20 are male.

No additional information about the 49 Wood County residents will be provided by the health department in order to protect their privacy.
