The Water Distribution Division in conjunction with a private contractor, the Utility Service Company, will be conducting isolated water main work on Aug. 19 on Knollwood Drive, from Ordway Avenue to the dead end; Hillcrest Drive, and Parkwood Drive.
On Aug. 22 this work will take place on Pearl Street, from Maple to Brigham. Each day’s work will begin at 7:30 a.m. with water service being shut off to customers in the work area. The work will consist of an ice slurry being run through the waterline in an effort to clean the waterline of deposits and increase water pressure and flow. No digging will take place. It is anticipated that water service to customers will be restored no later than 3:30 p.m.
Once water service is restored, it is important that residents run the cold water through each tap for about 5 minutes to ensure that any disturbance in the water service line is flushed. A boil advisory door hanger will be left at affected residences with instructions and an established timeline along with ways in which questions may be answered.
