A Bowling Green man has been arrested for aggravated arson, after he allegedly started a fire downtown.
Bowling Green Police Division was dispatched Tuesday, Nov. 30, at approximately 11:50 p.m., for report of a fire in City Parking Lot 2. Officers arrived and located numerous cardboard boxes and a pallet on fire in front of a rear stairway at 163 S. Main Street.
The Bowling Green Fire Division responded and extinguished the fire.
An investigation into this incident by responding officers and detectives led to the arrest of Brandon Shirkey, 28. Shirkey was charged with aggravated arson and taken to the Wood County Justice Center.
