Bowling Green Police arrested a man Friday (Aug. 25) around 12:30 a.m. for failure to maintain control of his vehicle and driving under the influence.
James Tizedes, 27, of Weston, reportedly crashed his vehicle into a pole in the 500 block of Sand Ridge Road. According to the police report, Tizedes’ eyes were bloodshot and glassy, his speech was slurred and he stumbled when walking.
All airbags had been deployed in the vehicle and there was significant damage to the front of the Chevrolet Sonic.
Tizedes was taken to Wood County Hospital by BG Fire Division, to check on any injuries from the crash.
The Bowling Green Electric Department responded to the scene, where the electric pole had been moved about 2 feet from the crash.
At the hospital, Tizedes reportedly agreed to provide a urine sample.
Hospital staff treated the driver for a fracture of his hand, and put a soft cast on the hand. After he was cleared by the Emergency Room staff, police took Tizedes to Wood County Jail.
