Tired of ice and snow and cold and wind? Have a few laughs this week and see the Bowling Green High School Drama Club’s Student-Directed Winter One-Act Plays.
The four comedies will be performed Wednesday, Jan. 24, Thursday, Jan. 25, and Friday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $7 for students and $10 for adults.
- “Lost in the Woods,” written and directed by senior Rose Walters, is about a summer camp that is mysteriously haunted by the music of Elvis Presley. Actors include Zack Mangan, Brooklyn Meyer, Nathan Keller, Aiden Thomas, Reagan Hoffman, Adelina Villarreal and Tyler Boice.
- “Good Cop Bad Cop,” written by professional playwrights Ian McWethy and Jason Pizzarello and directed by junior Deanna Burt and sophomore Paige Wulff, tells the story of a nefarious cop who directs his detectives to discover the source of missing and mixed up street signs. The zany cast of characters is portrayed by Alice Walters, Blade Kohler, Eddie Lyons, Chidiogo Onyekelu, Madison Wilson, Kylee Knauss and Mali Cloeter.
- “I Object,” written and directed by juniors Ramona Foreman and Slayer Porter, is a tale about a wedding gone wrong, then right, then sideways! Playing brides, grooms, family members and the wedding officiant are Jack Scarlotto-Scholl, Rose Walters, Ramona Foreman, Reagan Otley, Rain Cook, Alexander Sands, and Dylan Haught.
- “Action News: Now With 10% More Action” is written by professional playwright Jonathan Rand and directed by juniors Sophia Mercer and Piper Stuzman. A wacky newsroom featuring stories with a satirical twist is peppered with comic characters played by Calista Motisher, Drew Thomas, Kas Morrow, Blain Bryant, Mackenzie Maxey, Sammy French, Kennelley Gensen, and Arianna Chung.
The production’s assistant technical director is senior Sophia Kelly and sophomore Nia Warman stage manages. Crew members include Nathan Bechstein, John Fyfe, Anya Grillot, Morgan Hoffman, and Angelo Sickelbaugh.
