Bowling Green Police assisted Perrysburg Township Police Department and the Ohio State Patrol in a pursuit of a vehicle Sunday shortly after 3 p.m.
Radio traffic from the state patrol alerted BGPD to a chase on southbound Interstate 75, passing Ohio 582. As a BG officer headed out East Wooster Street, he observed a blue Ford Explorer exit I-75 onto westbound East Wooster Street.
The Ford then crossed over the concrete median and headed eastbound on East Wooster Street. The Perrysburg Township officer followed across the median, and got on northbound I-75 behind the Ford. Since the Perrysburg Township unit was by itself, the BGPD cruiser also picked up the chase.
The Ford continued northbound on I-75 until it reached the mile marker 182 crossover where it turned south. It was followed by the township and BG police, along with Ohio State Patrol.
The Ford then exited I-75 again at East Wooster Street, where it went across the roundabout and continued southbound on I-75. The vehicle then exited onto U.S. 6, then continued southbound to the entrance ramp to I-75.
BGPD terminated the pursuit in the area of the I-75 rest area south of Bowling Green, with state patrol and Perrysburg Township continuing the chase. According to the police report, the Ford rental vehicle continued to North Baltimore where the pursuit was terminated. At the time of this report the reason for the pursuit was unknown.
