Retired BG teachers ask community to support school operating levy on November ballot

It was our privilege to have served the families of BG City Schools for so many years. We were fortunate to teach at a time when the community championed our efforts by passing levies. With this constant support, we provided the best possible education for our students.

The last time an operating levy was passed was 14 years ago. In 2010! That’s a long time to finance the operational needs of our district without increases. Through those years, our students have received an incredible education, as evidenced by the 2023-2024 Ohio State Report Card. BG City Schools out ranked all but one district in Wood County with a 4.5 out of 5 stars ranking, an improvement from the previous year’s 4-star rating.

To continue to improve our students’ academic abilities, the upcoming income tax levy is essential to fund Bowling Green City Schools, making continual progress possible. The BGCS community has shown support for our students and teachers in the past; we are encouraging you to do so again.

We are united in our appeal to BGCS voters: please come together to pass the upcoming levy on Nov. 5. To learn more, please visit bgffs.com
