The Second Annual BG Thrift Fest promises to be bigger and better than the inaugural event in 2023.
This year the event will be held Saturday, Nov. 2 from noon to 5 p.m. in the Champion Barn at the Wood County Fairgrounds, 13800 W. Poe Road. The larger space will feature 29 vendors selling a variety of styles, aesthetics and brands of secondhand clothes and accessories such as jewelry, shoes, hats and handbags. There will also be food trucks on site.
During last year’s event, hundreds of secondhand garments found new homes, to advance the fight against apparel and textile waste, said event organizer Meara Holden, who grew up in Bowling Green and is currently a student at Bowling Green State University.
