On the day vaccinations started on the Bowling Green State University campus, the university ‘s weekly update showed new COVID-19 cases continue at a low level.
From March 22 through March 28, BGSU had 24 new cases. That’s less by a bit than last week’s 26, which was less than the 30 reported the previous week.
Of the new cases, 22 are students, of whom 17 live off campus, one staff, and one faculty. The university also has no students isolated in on-campus residences, and only one student in quarantine.
Since the start of the spring semester, 388 COVID-19 cases have been reported — 322 students, eight faculty, and 48 staff.
During the current reporting period, 785 tests on individuals who are symptomatic, asymptomatic or been exposed, have been conducted and 18 cases have been detected, a 2.3 percent positivity rate. The state’s positivity rate is 3.6 percent.
Since the beginning of the year, 15, 143 tests have been administered, with 420 cases diagnosed, a 2.8-percent positivity rate.
