From CITY OF BOWLING GREEN
Crews will begin the final round of leaf collection for the year on Monday, Dec. 8. Leaf collection is available for addresses that are eligible for city refuse/recycling collection and is not connected to the regular refuse/recycling collection schedule. A map has been posted to the city’s website, www.bgohio.gov, allowing residents to follow crews’ progress.
Residents should note that this will be the final round of leaf collection for 2025.
Leaves should be placed loose curbside, not in bags. People should not place leaf piles near poles, mailboxes, guy wires, or any other structures. Residents should not place leaves in the street, because this blocks storm drains during rain events. Also, there is a risk of parked cars with warm exhaust systems catching on fire when over dry leaves. People should not place brush or any other yard waste in leaf piles.
Bowling Green residents may also take leaves to the drop-off site, located behind the Public Works garage on Tarragon Drive, off East Poe Road. Brush and branches are not accepted at the drop-off site.
Residents may also consider using a mower to mulch leaves in their yards. Grass clippings and finely chopped leaves add vital nutrients and organic matter to the lawn, thus improving lawn health.
