Update: Fremont man in custody for attempted murder in BG shooting

James Jermaine Starks Jackson II has been taken into custody in Cleveland. Bowling Green Police Division obtained an arrest warrant for Jackson, 23, of Fremont, for attempted murder in the shooting early Sunday morning in Bowling Green.   

Jackson was identified as the suspect through witness statements and video surveillance.

During the course of the investigation, detectives also received information regarding a possible additional victim.

As of Tuesday, the victim in the Sunday shooting, Kobe Peterson, 21, of Toledo, was listed in critical condition at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Toledo.

The shooting occurred in the early morning hours Sunday in the area of 300 block of North Main Street. Around 2:18 a.m. officers were flagged down about an altercation. Police found a man who had a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Officers recovered several shell casings from the scene.
