People in this community who know me know that I rarely take a public position in support of local issues.
Except this time! I am asking the community to join me in supporting and actually voting for the One Community, One School levy this November.
If readers understand how this will benefit almost everyone, then I thank you and ask that you bring friends and family to the polls with you to support One Community, One School.
If you plan to vote against this proposal, or are on the fence, there are some things I would urge you to remember.
Property values are dependent on what buyers perceive as quality schools. Many people that work in BG live in the Perrysburg or Anthony Wayne school districts because they believe they have superior schools to Bowling Green. We must change that. BG is a community with a tradition of educating educators. We owe it to our children and grandchildren to continue this tradition.
Just as important, almost every other school district surrounding BG has embraced a One Community, One School approach. That’s because it is a better way to teach, and much more economical to administer. Centralization IS the future.
This issue is very important. The quality of our community and the neighbors we attract to it will be, in a large part, dependent on the outcome of this vote.
Thank you for your consideration and I hope you will join me in voting for One Community, One School.
