From TOLEDO MUSEUM OF ART
For the second straight year, the Toledo Museum of Art was named the “Best Art Museum in America” and “Best Free Art Museum,” according to the USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
Adam Levine, Edward Drummond and Florence Scott Libbey, the president, director, and CEO announced the awards to museum staff on Feb. 26.
“Our competition included many of the biggest museums in the United States, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. That is the company we keep,” said Levine.
Levine continued, telling museum employees that “the fact we won in a vote demonstrates two incredible things, first the passion and commitment people in our community have for this extraordinary institution. Second, it also demonstrates the national and international respect for the work that so many of you are doing and for the governance of our board.”
Along with earning national recognition, this award underscores Toledo’s cultural vibrancy and TMA’s role as a destination for visitors and residents alike.
Admission and parking to TMA are always free, welcoming everyone to explore its galleries. The museum is open Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. It is closed on Monday, Tuesday, and select holidays. TMA is located at 2445 Monroe St., just one block off I-75, with exit signs posted for easier access. For more information, call 419-255-8000 or visit toledomuseum.org.
