Two teenagers died shortly after midnight when their vehicles collided head on in Providence Township.
The Toledo Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol was called to the scene at 12:06 a.m. today (5-24-25) to investigate the two-vehicle crash on Henry–Lucas County Road near S. River Road in Providence Township, Lucas County.
The patrol reports that 2018 Kawasaki KLX140 dirt bike driven by Brayden Sadler, 18, Grand Rapids, was northbound on Henry – Lucas County Road and a 2001 Honda TRX400EX all terrain vehicle driven by Jack Rowland, 18, Perrysburg was southbound on on the same road.
Rowland was traveling southbound in the northbound lane and Sadler was traveling northbound in the northbound lane when their vehicles collided head-on. Both operators were pronounced dead at the scene.
Neither operator was wearing a helmet and the vehicles were not properly equipped to be operating on a public roadway. Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash, the state patrol reports.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio Investigative Unit, and Providence Township Fire Department.
