Dr. Alexis Klassen of Alexis Klassen & Associates hosted the Forward Falcon Dental Workshop at her office at 1218 Ridgewood Drive in Bowling Green last month.
Around 15-20 students from the BGSU Pre-Professional Program who are planning to continue their education in the dental field were invited for a day of hands-on training and activities at the office. They observed and performed four or five tasks that are not usually seen nor experienced until the second year of Dental School.
The activities will included intra-oral scanning, placing dental restorations in mannequin mouths, periodontal measurements and gum disease discussion, review of dental terminology, initial introduction to dental radiographs, and instrument processing with universal precautions.
Dr. Klassen has been involved in the Pre-Professional Program at BGSU since 2020. She also created the first pre-dental scholarship in the history of the university that benefits two pre-dental students annually.
