A Toledo man was arrested Tuesday (Aug. 18) after he allegedly pepper sprayed two people in Bowling Green City Park.
BG Police responded around 11:47 a.m., after a caller reported a man wearing all black clothing had pepper sprayed two people, and threw another person to the ground and reportedly threatened to kill her.
Police found Parrell Whitman, 22, who matched the description in one of the shelter houses. He reportedly told police that he believed that people were trying to steal his backpack.
Bowling Green Fire Division responded to the scene to check on the people sprayed and thrown to the ground.
Whitman was charged with two counts of felonious assault and one count of menacing. He was taken to Wood County Jail.
