BG Police request warrant for felonious assault after man left unconscious on downtown sidewalk

Bowling Green Police responded Sunday (Aug. 23) around 2:07 a.m., to an unconscious male lying on the sidewalk in the 100 block of East Court Street, surrounded by a group of people.

Passersby were reportedly supporting the man’s head and neck, and monitoring his breathing. Police reported a large hematoma on the right side of the man’s head, and a significant amount of blood coming from a laceration on his chin and from his mouth.

Bowling Green EMS responded and transported the man to St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.

Camera footage from the downtown showed two males assault the victim, punching him in the face causing him to fall to the ground, then lifting him up and forcing his upper body and head into the concrete.

The video then showed the suspects fleeing northbound on foot.

A witness was reportedly able to identify one of the suspects, and a warrant for felonious assault was requested.
