Hello my name is Joel O’Dorisio and I hope to represent you in our Ohio Senate District 2. I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, and am a proud graduate of Columbus public schools. I went on to graduate from Ohio State University with a degree in Fine Arts. After school I started Lost Angel Glass, a studio and gallery in New York. For 8 years I produced and sold art all over the country.
In 2006 I began teaching and I moved back to Ohio to become a Teaching Professor for Bowling Green State University. As soon as I began my teaching career I noticed challenges facing students and teachers. I started working with faculty to form a chapter of the AAUP at our university. I know that working together is the best way to find a solution.
We face many challenges in Ohio. We have seen defunding of public education and rising student debt. We are losing democracy at work that healthy unions provide. These issues will be the foundation of my campaign. Empower everyday Ohioans by ensuring they have strong public schools, a voice in government and a strong team so that together we can craft a better future for Ohio.
