Four more Wood County residents with COVID-19 have died – bringing the total nine deaths in the county from the virus.
The four most recent deaths were all women, ages 79, 88, 91 and 93 – all with underlying health conditions.
Wood County now has 77 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases, according to the daily update from the Wood County Health Department on Friday, April 17.
As of today, 30 of those with the virus reside in long-term care facilities in the county.
A total of 32 are hospitalized. As of today, Wood County Hospital has three patients who tested positive for COVID-19.
Those with the virus range in age from 20 to 96, with the median age of 61. Of those, 43 are female, 34 are male.
No additional information about the 77 Wood County residents will be provided by the health department in order to protect their privacy.
